Juncus repens, commonly known as Creeping Rush, is a versatile and visually striking aquatic plant native to North America. Its slender, needle-like leaves grow in an upright to slightly arching habit, adding a natural, wild texture to midground and background plantings. Under high light, the foliage takes on warm reddish-brown tones, making it a beautiful accent plant in both aquascapes and paludariums.

Tips for Success

Juncus repens is one of the easier stem plants to keep, tolerating a wide range of conditions. It grows quickly under good lighting and benefits from regular trimming to maintain a tidy shape. Replant trimmed tops to propagate and fill out your scape. CO₂ and fertilisation will enhance growth rate and bring out richer colouration.
