Eleocharis sp. Belem, commonly known as Mini Hairgrass, is one of the most popular foreground plants in the aquascaping hobby. Its fine, grass-like blades create a lush, natural-looking lawn effect that works beautifully in both Nature Aquarium and Dutch-style layouts. With the right conditions, it spreads via runners to form a dense, carpet-like foreground that gives any aquascape a polished, professional finish.

Tips for Success

Plant in small clumps spaced 1–2 cm apart to encourage even spreading. Good substrate, medium-to-high lighting, and CO₂ injection will significantly speed up carpeting. Regular trimming keeps the lawn dense and prevents shading of lower growth.
