Cryptocoryne axelrodi is a charming and relatively uncommon Cryptocoryne species native to Sri Lanka. It produces slender, lance-shaped leaves with an attractive olive-green to brownish-green colouration and a lightly textured surface. Its compact, clumping growth habit makes it well suited to foreground and midground placement, particularly in smaller aquascapes and biotope setups.

Tips for Success
Like most Cryptocorynes, axelrodi may experience a period of leaf melt after planting as it adjusts to aquarium conditions — this is completely normal. New growth will emerge healthy and adapted to your water parameters. It thrives in low to medium light without CO₂, making it an excellent choice for low-tech and low-maintenance setups. Plant in a nutrient-rich substrate and avoid disturbing the roots once established.
