Type

Cryptocoryne mioya is a rare and little-known Cryptocoryne species that is highly sought after by collectors and Crypt enthusiasts. Native to Borneo, it produces attractive, narrow to lance-shaped leaves with a rich green colouration and a subtly textured surface. Its compact rosette form and slow, steady growth make it a rewarding plant for dedicated aquascapers who appreciate the quieter beauty of rarer species.

Why Tissue Culture?

  • Free from snails, planarians, and pest algae
  • Free from pathogens and parasites
  • No rock wool to remove — just rinse and plant

Tips for Success

Like all Cryptocorynes, mioya may experience a period of leaf melt after planting as it adjusts to aquarium conditions — this is completely normal and new growth will emerge healthy and adapted to your water parameters. It prefers soft, slightly acidic water and a nutrient-rich substrate. Leave it completely undisturbed once planted to allow it to establish. Patience is essential with this slow-growing rarity, but it will reward you with a truly unique and conversation-worthy specimen in your aquarium.
